Black Label

Black Label is one of the most popular brands of Barbie dolls which was first introduced in the world in the 70s and 80s. Since the time of launching all Barbie dolls of the Black Label series have dominated the world in a way that no other models have been able to do. Barbie is the most popular name in the world of toys and is the most favorite thing for kids, specially for girl kids. Barbie dolls are available in various sizes designs and functions and is the best selling product in all toy shops across the world and the models of the Black Label series just disappear from the stores in a while because of high demand.

Barbie is perhaps the greatest toy character the world has seen in the past 50 years. Barbie was first launched as an adult doll in the year 1959 when suddenly the wife of a toy manufacturer found her daughter playing with paper dolls and giving them adult rolls. She advised her husband to manufacture an adult doll and the idea was appreciated by the workers of the company. Thus an adult doll with blond hair was manufactured and was named Barbie after Barbara, the daughter of the toy manufacturer. From then on Barbie has own millions of tiny hearts all across the world and with the introduction of the Black Label Barbies in 1970s selling all other models of the same doll became extremely difficult for people.

One of the major reason behind the popularity of Black Label Barbies were their wonderful looks, appearances and attractive costumes. Black Label Barbie dolls refer to those models that were designed by Bob Mackie, one of the most reputed costume and fashion designers. Bob Mackie started designing costumes for Barbie in the year 1970s and in the year 1982 he established a company named Bob Mackie Originals. It can be said here that without his great contribution, Black Label Barbies would not have been so popular.

The models of the Black Label Barbies are known as Cher Dolls and true-to-life detailing were added to all the models to make them more attractive for young kids. The faces of the Black Label Barbies are most authentic and the clothes that were used for the costumes were of the best quality. All dolls of the Black Label series were named as Cher as they had the most glamorous and sensational looks. One of the most unique features of the Black Label Cher dolls was the hairstyle. The hairstyle of the Cher dolls matched wonderfully with the costumes and the glamorous looks and the outfits were used according to the attitude of the characters. Though all Black Label Cher dolls have been sold out you would notice the use of typical costumes in the pictures of the models. Halter, long skirts with oversized feather headdress were the most important features of the Black Label Barbies of 1970s.

Another new series of Black Label Cher dolls was introduced in 1980s and the models were even more sensational. The dresses designed by Bob Mackie for this series were even more glamorous and the faces were even more authentic. Another typical feature of the Black Label Cher dolls were curly black hair.
